Naturalization during a divorce

I've decided that I want to apply for naturalization, for various reasons. My current situation is as follows:

I married my USC wife in 2007 in the UK
I immigrated to the US in 2009 and got my...

Re: Driver license in New York state

Read more carefully what I wrote ("county DMV office") before you start yelling. I said they were different numbers, not different DMVs.

Question Driver license in New York state

The NYS DMV number and the county DMV office number both just go to automated messages, so I thought I'd try here.

My wife already has a car here in the US, so I'd like to be able to drive it as...

Re: URGENT: How long should it take to immigrate at JFK?

Turns out it wasn't even worth worrying about. The guy at the counter did the usual stuff, then took me and the MBE to the office. I waited for about two minutes, a guy came and stamped my passport,...

Re: URGENT: How long should it take to immigrate at JFK?

Yep! Just got back from town with a good deal on a Delta flight tomorrow. Better than I could find online, so I guess there is still a use for travel agents.

Re: URGENT: How long should it take to immigrate at JFK?

Okay, thanks. I was planning to leave about four hours, so good to know that's reasonable.

Re: URGENT: How long should it take to immigrate at JFK?

I meant for the actual immigration processing, though -- those times appear to apply to anyone going into the country.

URGENT: How long should it take to immigrate at JFK?

I'd like to book a flight tomorrow, immigrating at JFK and then connecting onwards. I have no idea how long the immigration process takes, though. I'm sure it varies by individual, but I'd like some...

Re: Financial comparison sites

Oh, you probably mean Motley Fool. I forgot there was a US version. I'll check it out. Thanks.

Financial comparison sites

Anyone know of any worthwhile comparison sites? Initially I'm just looking for ones that cover bank accounts and car insurance. I haven't seen any adverts for the equivalents of Go Compare, Money...

Re: T-Mobile in the US compared to the UK

Not so weird, really. Walls can often attenuate microwaves significantly (although it depends what they're made of). All these dead spots is probably going to lead to a lot of people having the cells...

Re: T-Mobile in the US compared to the UK

Did they actually tell you that? It's utter nonsense. There isn't "the tower signal", there's a signal for each phone that's using the tower, and that signal is continuously monitored and adjusted...

Re: TV bought in the UK - wondering whether to sell or leave behind?

What model is it? I have an LE40A656 that I'm considering taking. Some web sites even claim it will do NTSC, but I presume not ATSC so the digital tuner would be useless.

Re: Visa application suspended :-(

Because there aren't any direct flights to Buffalo, and Toronto is the closest international airport. For my wife flying with our son, it's also significantly cheaper to fly to Canada because of the...

Re: Visa application suspended :-(

Who, the sister? She has an income, but I'm not involving anyone else in the sponsorship.

My wife and son are moving back to the US in a couple of weeks, using a land border. I'll be flying out a...

Re: Visa application suspended :-(

Nah, her sister is living in it while she looks for an apartment.

I guess we have our answer, then, so we'll see how that works out. For the moment, I'm just trying to console a tearful wife.

Re: Visa application suspended :-(

Yes, that's where we'll be living. That, and the fact that her grandmother wouldn't be considered a household member, means that the best bet is to probably just to send them on ahead, wait for her...

Actually, I don't see how that's possible. On the first page of the form, under "Who May Be Considered a Household Member for Purpose of This Form?" it says that a household member is (emphasis...

Having just read the notes for that form, I'm inclined to agree.

Re: Visa application suspended :-(

Oh, I agree with it being future income, but I thought that the money in the bank, being more than sufficient to cover July and August, would have made up for that. It seems that what they're...
