Expats out in NZ Married only??!

I'm wondering as a single expat what the situation is with other expats who come out here?

All I seem to hear out on these forums are the married or partnered expats.

Alas I'm too old (31) for the working holiday visa.
But I plan on getting the skilled migrant visa anyway OR a Work to Reside visa :)

But I figure that a lot of the places that take on...

IELTS Test and Submission

Been looking through the EOI form (or rather the EOI Book! :) ) and it mentions the IELTS test for english language capability.
Does this apply for Native English Speakers or do we tick the box that...

My plan is to head out to NZ late this year and check it out.

I want to basically do some temporary, part-time work, get a feel for the country and look for a job...

Likelihood of work - Commercial Diver / Rigger

Just wondering what the system is in NZ for getting work as a British National.

I'm ex-forces and work in commercial diving and on the oil rigs.

Can you just roll up to the country and apply...
