Actually once the study permit has been issued you can start working straight away as long as it's on campus, then after 6 months you can apply for an off campus work permit and pretty much work...

Just wanted to quickly pop in and say a big thanks once more to everyone who gave advice.
The study permit letter popped on the mat this morning after 8 weeks of waiting, and now have the all clear...

I've just sent a letter off saying pretty much that same thing, in hindsight I should have put it in the original application but probably was naive in thinking it would be assumed.

I was just wondering if any one who had applied for a study permit has ever had a response back asking how the rest of the funds would be obtained for the duration of the course they would be...

I sent off my application which was recieved by London on the 27th April.
Haven't heard anything yet, but should be close to hearing something in the next week.
