I have been to the US twice last year, each time staying around 80 days, and I had more than 90 days gap before returning the second time, both times i traveled on the VWP as a tourist.

The problem is that the employers that are interested have not done a H1B visa before, and are not that clued up on the costs. They do know my situation and we are both committed to doing things by...

I just need to roughly know what costs there are, what they need to do and timescales etc - i'm just being pro-active in my job search that's all and is for my benefit if anything!

Ok, so this is as bad as i thought! If i wanted to stay in the US long term i guess my only option would be to get a sponsored job - which i bet will be hard to find and will take forever to apply...

Ok, thanks for the info! What if i applied for the B2 visa, would that tell me if they would let me in before i left the UK, rather than getting turned away at immigration?
