The agents say it's standard practice, but get it written into...

I'll either have to stump and forego the wedding pressie, or...

Re: Tax needn't be taxing... but it is!

 Yeah, wasn't implying you didn't know; just comforting to hear that others find it equally confusing!

I didn't mean that I don't want to pay any tax on anything, it's just it was mentioned...

Re: Public holiday now Sat

:frown: Well, I think we're getting ripped off. Was told on Tuesday we'd "await announcement by Tecom" but seems that the bosses are reading it as Tecom the office is closed and not Tecom the area...

Re: Tax needn't be taxing... but it is!

 Looks like I've opened a can of worms with this one! Glad I'm not the only one who's unsure how it all works.

What happens if you don't fill a p85 and then return to the UK? Is it like...

Right then... a P85 you say? I'm on it, thanks for...

Re: Tax needn't be taxing... but it is!

hi busybee, thanks for the reply.

I'm not paying anything (as far as I know!) and I have been out of the UK since May '07. I'm just not sure if I

I've been reading some of the threads and keep seeing tax (April, 1 full year etc.) being mentioned for returnees to the UK.

I don't have any immediate plans to go UK-wards for now, but...

Re: Bit cheeky but give me a chance!

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I guess it's going to be tough finding anything in the current climate. I don't have to move as I think my job is fairly secure, just really keen to get out of this sand...

Re: Bit cheeky but give me a chance!

:o If I must ;)

To be honest i don't mind really. Can't be picky in this current climate. I'm working in Dubai at the moment, briefly worked in Japan and am just looking for a change of scene.
