Hi - we came over two years ago after the shall we/shan't we discussion. Hubby had been here for a two week visit, for me and the two kids it was a complete trip into the unknown!

We were in Wellington with the kids on Saturday and they enjoyed costume spotting...although they kept asking why people were dressed up. OH also overheard a tourist in Te Papa who said 'Zis town...

We watched it at home...NZ snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. OH will be quietly gloating at work tomorrow!

Getting really fed up with NZ sore losers though - compare the two...

What worked well for us was to buy a couple of UK multi-plug, then attach an NZ plug. I am currently using one UK 5-socket for my iron and a few kitchen appliances eg sandwich toaster, waffle iron...

Hi - primary schools here go through to year 8 so they do get a bit longer to be kids!
There are lots of schools in Parapram/Raumati - as with the UK, we found that it was best to visit the schools...

Hi - we have lived in Paraparaumu (roll the 'r's, say 'ParapaROWmu' (ROW as in 'cow') or take the easy way out and say 'Parapram') for two years now and our kids (now 11 & 9) go to Raumati Beach...
