Re: Job in Abu Dhabi Investment Authority

I'm a consultant working for ADIA. Before I arrived here, I was told that they are a very well run organisation and something of a gem in the middle east.
However, having worked in the middle east...

Re: Al Reef Villas & other off-island Abu Dhabi living

My colleague has bought a 3 bedder and a 5 bedder at Al Reef. He visits the site regularly to check progress. Apparently, it's doing okay. It's not as bad as Arabian Ranches, which is a constant...

Re: Shipping car from USA to the UAE

I would have agreed with you a few months ago, but not anymore. White cars do not look that bad in this region. Don't know what it is (perhaps the theory of darker colours being a conductor of heat...

Re: Shipping car from USA to the UAE

Thanks for your advice - I will try and see if I can get something here.

I called Nissan today and they want 190k for the new 370Z. It retails in the UK for £30,000, which means that it is more...

Re: Baby Nurseries in Abu Dhabi

My wife and I have enjoyed reading the comments, but honestly the idea was to just get her out of the house (with my wife) for a few hours a day in order to interact with other children. My wife...

Re: Beggars during Ramadan, what to do?

I believe begging is the same in any country, whether it be the Middle East, India or the UK (yes, the UK). You may have forgotten the number of times you get approached for cash from people,...

Re: Shipping car from USA to the UAE

Thank you for your replies.

The main reason is because I'm thinking of buying essentially one of three cars and I just can't get hold of good examples here (well, not at a good price anyway).

Re: Al Raha Gardens

Just for the purposes of market research, my friends just moved into a phase 2 at Al Raha (I think that's right). It's a 5 bedder with a pool. They're paying 240k. This would have been unheard of 6...
