I got a call from the consular officer. My visa has been approved! One catch though, I have to go all the way back to the embassy as he forgot to get me to sign something. Scotland to London...

I was there on the 8th December. I am sure it was worth the wait but oh my goodness what a long wait we had that day!

I called the Embassy again today. They weren't really prepared to help at first but after some argument they had me send a request for the interview letter and pack again with "IV appointment letter...

but then you wouldnt get an IR if you where married less than 2 years as you would have conditions right?

I thought the risk of arranged marriages / fake marriages to get into the country is a factor.

If it is considered low risk then perhaps they do not get the same attention or there are less...

There can be a lot of difference due to the type of visa.

eg Mark you filed an I129F "finance" which is a lot higher risk than say mine which is an IR1 "been married for over 2 years" immigrant...

I emailed the embassy to ask them to send me the letter guaranteed by Friday or to send it to me by email. However it does take them a couple of days at least to respond.

I feel yet another call...

My mother in law wants to know if she can black out her bank account on her pay stubs she is going to provide for the I-864A (her paystubs are sent to her electronically so she has just printed them...

I have work commitments that I can't get out of with this amount of notice. I figured that since I haven't even received my packet yet they would show a little compassion but who knows.
