OK, makes sense. However, I am in SA on a temp residence permit so the translation is the way to go for me to keep my papers in order.

Why is it necessary to convert to a SA licence? I hold a Belgian licence and on the couple of times that I've been stopped by the police I was advised to get a translation into English from the...

I'm Scottish, married to a Belgian, have lived in Joburg for 12 years. Love all the good bits, very scared of the bad bits. Will be returning to Europe in a few years from now.
