Why dont you try Smiling Bangkok behind the Emirates garage on Al Wasl Road near the Post Office. The food is excellent, the decor funky and the price is very good value. Beats those boring 5 star...

I had to buy a VPN for around $40 before I could use Skype successfully with Etisalat as my provider. Type VPN into Google and there are quite a few options.

The VPN bypasses the Etisalat filters...

I still have nightmares about all those Proton Kanchils clogging up the box junction at the intersection of Ampang and Tun Razak. Having said that, Dubai is going the same way!

The traffic in KL can be a real nightmare and is very unpredictable so I would suggest that you base your decision on where to live around where you need to travel to on a regular basis i.e. work.

Dont forget Park & Shop on Al Wasl Road - parking is much easier than Spinneys and the butchers (including pork) is superior. Really good fresh basked bread also.
