Re: GOA - Buyer Beware!

Hi,

I've recently successfully taken another group to court, but took them as individuals rather than the company. If this company, like mine, was bogus, you can't get your money back even if you...

Re: GOA - Buyer Beware!

Hi,

I don't know anything about this particular case, but confiscation and a fine of 3 x value seems to be in line with penalties stated under Section 13 of FEMA....

Re: GOA - Buyer Beware!

But "Foreign Inward Remittance"? I am told this means sent from country of origin to your, or your company's, account, before being paid to the builders, rather than paying them direct. However, I...

Re: GOA - Buyer Beware!

Hi Everyone,

Some of you will know that I am one of the relatively lucky ones who pulled out in time and got my money back from the builders.

I'm now taking to court the sharks who mis sold me...

Re: FEMA

Hi,

I am sending you a PM, as I see from this site you have had dealings with Tecnica UK, Mr Morling and/or Mr Hellman.

I am currently in the process of taking them to court, but have had a...

Re: WHERE DO YOU BUY YOUR DIAMONDS IN GOA

Sorry, you're missing my point. The fact that people are getting higher insurance valuations doesn't mean they are buying jewellery in India that is worth more. If you buy a ring in UK and get it...

Re: WHERE DO YOU BUY YOUR DIAMONDS IN GOA

Anyone recommend anywhere in Colva/Margoa area? I'm going over in April and want to buy a 1 ct solitaire. I looked in a couple of places last time I was over, but the diamonds were low quality, lots...

Re: FEMA

Understand your concerns Hemingway, but I think it's a lot easier to sus people out in a chat. And as my last call was over 45 minutes, I can't afford that sort of money on a pay as you go mobile....

Re: FEMA

Hi Jasmine,

happy to share info with you, but would prefer to do it privately, and if possible, by phone.

When you can go private, send me your number (prefer landline, as I have free calls and...

Re: FEMA

Hi Jane,

Thanks for your message. I'd rather communicate privately about this. Can you send me an email? I think you can send privately on this, but not sure how to do it!

Cheers,
Jimbo

Re: GOA - Buyer Beware!

Thanks for info. I'll try it with my bank first, as the builders have already paid the money in. I assume they'll tell me to return it to the builders and let them try, as they can show the money...

Re: GOA - Buyer Beware!

Hi Folks,

We are among the "lucky ones" who managed to pull out of the purchase in time, and have now had a refund from our builders. However, it's in Rupees and in a bank in Margao.

Anyone...

Re: FEMA

They comply with FEMA, that what the UK dealers should do! It actually seems very clear as to what a FN can or cannot do. And that a business must be set up BEFORE you start to purchase. And that...

Re: Registered or Resigned ?

Hi Santan,

We've just done exactly the same. However, we think we have a case against the company in UK, and I think we may well have bought via the same lot of cowboys as you. Be very interested...

FEMA

Hi,

I have recently withdrawn from buying an apartment in Goa, and the builders have (so far) been co-operative and will reimburse me when the property is sold on.

However, I now want to take...
