Calling all expats near Norrtälje (Sweden)

Hi All,

I moved to Sweden in May with my wife and two kids (4 and 6). We moved to Norrtälje which is about 45 minutes north of Stockholm.

Are there any expats near to Norrtälje who want to meet up? As with a lot of what i read before moving here, the Swedish people we have met are nice, but do not seem interested in making new friends.

All the groups I have found are for Stockholm, which is great, however it would be nice to have some local friends.

cheers

James

P.s. any and all advice is welcome :-)

Hi James!
I have just joined this community so didn't read your message till today.
I cannot see any replies so thought I would be the first!
Welcome to Sweden :)
I am from Kent and have lived here for 35 years!
I used to live in Stockholm and visited Norrtälje many times. Pretty little place. Now I live in another pretty little place, about 90 minutes west of Stockholm. Let me know if you would still like to meet Brits even if we live a little further away....
I realized many years ago that if you did not go to school with your friends here in Sweden, then it is very unlikely that you will as a newcomer, be accepted by pre-formed groups of friends. This applies to other Swedes as well whom move to a new town and are unable to make friends. You may have lots of acquaintances however!
Kind regards to you and your family, Elhe90.
