Lived in the mountains in Colorado for 6 months after Uni. Was excellent. Must been even better now certain things have been legalised.

Would move back in an instant. A nice big house with awesome views over the mountains, close proximity to a ski resort, a big fire pit outside so I could chill at night having a beer and a smoke while looking at the massive starry skies.

The house must have a big drive and a huge garage so I can play with 4x4's, motorbikes, atv's etc.

A nice lake nearby so I can wake board in the summer.

I think I'd love somewhere in the ski resorts of France for that reason too, overlooking mountains, being wrapped up warm around a fire pit with a hot cider. Access to ski slopes when needed. Lovely little village with great nightlife too. Arghhhhh now I want to go skiing again!

Much as I'd love to live in the South of France I don't fancy their taxes so my shortlist is currently Cyprus or Malaysia. I want a smallholding and to have time to write.

I've been to many of the resorts in Europe and as good as they are they aren't even in the same league as the Yankie ones.

The only thing they do win in is the Apres Ski but I'm not sure my liver could handle living somewhere where every night is a party anymore.

Cyprus is a good shout. I've also got that on my list.

I just love the food and atmosphere in French ski villages . I went to New Hampshire in the U.S. But wasn't struck on it

obviously since im still here this is very much still a plan thats in process but my ideal is home in the Uk for short breaks in summer and around christmas but the rest of the time no fixed abode suits me.

Id love to spend a few months a year in many different places so not quite resident and not quite tourist. the list of places id like to do this is long enough that i could spend a good few years before getting bored and looking for other options.

just need a massive lump sum or income separated from geography and or and my direct time input first

Let me clarify, the very high level of their taxes. I have zero problem with paying taxes but move to France as a foreigner and buy property and you'll end up paying huge amounts on everything.

Note it says Bored liberal with a small l. It's not a declaration of political allegiance although compared to many around here I'm very much to the left,
