I really like them, have seen a few kicking around and the look fantastic. Would be interested to hear how the test drive goes. I hear that there's waiting list from them (in the UAE at least) but not sure how long.

The Alfa 8C Competizone is about the best looking car ever made, would love one of them, despite the fact it apparently drives like a pig on roller skates and, being an Alfa, it won’t drive for very long between bouts of being fixed.

As a kid I lover the Mercedes 300SL ‘Gullwing’ and the Lamborghini Countach.

Of todays a Ferrari California, a Lambo Gallado or the new Aston Vanquish would all do very nicely.

That's not that pretty I don't think...

My Mum had a Brera when it was first out. Had it 5 days, radio broke, got it back, radio broke immediately. Drove around a roundabout, back into Alfa and walked away with all of her original money back.

Also, it is impossible to explain A/C controls:

(just got into the car, AC blowing full)

me: this is not how it works it will not cool down any faster
her: but it is lower temp. surely it will
me: no, it already blows max. when you set down the dial it will only stay on for longer to cool down to 18Deg instead of 22deg but it will not get to 22deg any faster.
her: (still leaving it on 18 and thinking when and how I will pay back for being smart)

Hs, hs . I have a similar argument every time my husband gets into the Jeep. He puts the AC on 'Auto', I switch it up to 'Max'. He rambles on about air circulation or something and how Auto will get the air cooler a lot quicker than Max. How can it? How can anything be more efficient that Max? I don't get it

It's not ugly, no, just looks a bit girly I think...

TVRs are all incredible. Can't believed I overlooked them. Old man had a Chimaera. Phenomenal amount of noise....BUT, stuff broke. Regularly.

Yeah, that was always the problem (never had one, unfortunately). T350s seem to be holding their value--£18k+. I'm not sure I could be trusted with 400bhp through the back wheels without traction control and all the rest--I used to steer my kit car on the throttle round bends (and the MX5 to a much lesser extent), but that was very predictable...

There is a big loop to get on the M27 outside Portsmouth (by Port Solent)...in fact, it is much like every motorway junction here....but I remember being able to go round it at 60mph in the TVR with the back end not just twitching but jumping and sliding like a grasshopper on ice.

As an 11yr old it was the best thing in the world.

Well, a modern car has about 10 or so outlets and a couple of sensors in the cabin. Based on your selection it will decide where to blow to achieve optimum air flow. It is similar to ABS, a car breakes much better when wheels are not on maximum break (locked).

And when it broke expect to wait months for replacement parts. I had my Chimaera serviced by a Land Rover specialist.

Best one I had was a Segaris, awesome machine. 44k brand new and made most 'super cars' look ordinary.

It was bought from a Landie dealer.

The thing that was annoying was the button under the mirror for opening the door. And the roof never quite fit. And the handle/knob/twisty thing inside didn't open the doors properly.

None of that mattered once it had started up though.
