From recent days:

Kate pregnant but in hospital with morning sickness. "but"?

The roof of the tunnel collapsed downwards onto the road. And there was me thinking Japan was a gravity-free country. And it was a road tunnel, where else was it going to fall? Plus, it wasn't the tunnel which collapsed, but the lining--a major difference.

Child arrests "continue to fall". The article gives details of figures which prove that the number has fallen--so why the ""?

Congolese army returns to Goma v US fines China nuclear exporter Those two on adjacent lines

On the other hand, it does allow you to dig deeper with some good analysis.

Where do you go?
Guardian is decent, not brilliant though. Some great articles and good sports but some is very wankish.

Probably predictably - BBC and Guardian are my usual news sources. Twitter does give pointers and diversity through tweets and I find things there that I wouldn't normally - yes in a news sense.

Good point regarding Twitter. By following the right people (not a bunch of wittering imbeciles) you can pick up a lot of interesting/useful info, much of which has a link you can go to for more details.

Just unfollow anyone who annoys, witters or is utterly inane. I follow far fewer people than follow me. Naturally I am utterly fascinating. Pensions and tax are fascinating aren't they?

Sky News (for headlines)
Guardian (for interesting articles)
The Sun (for entertainment).

Decided today to stop reading the Daily Mail. Apart from the bigotry, there are too many upsetting stories. They go too far .
