And instilling in your children a sense of responsibility, especially in respect of a soon-to-be scarce resource. The number of people I used to see in Fitness First gym leaving the taps going full throttle while they shaved and cleaned their teeth...

It's possible wars will be fought over water in the future if we don't get better at managing resources. The first and best way to do that is for each of us to watch our consumption and try not to waste anything.
Couple that with better management of resources and at point of consumption energy saving and waste management and our grandchildren may still be able to enjoy a daily shower in clean water.

As Millhouse said, unbelievably energy-hungry. Huge great pumps needed to push seawater through a membrane, and huge great pumps need huge amounts of energy to drive them.
If the anit-frackers are right, then UK too will be looking at resources other than natural ones for much of its drinking water.
And then on the other hand look at Somerset
