How utterly ridiculous. Some local abusing his influence

I agree. The British bloke was invited there by a local hospital.

Can't see many British surgeons wanting to come & visit anymore.

"Come to the UAE. Be tailgated, intimidated, and thrown into jail" catchy, eh?

Sounds like everyday driving to me and yes the car would have to be white! Let's hope that the "local" gets done for tailgating

A ridiculous situation but what's more daft is that none of us are at all shocked at what happened because it's sadly an everyday occurence in this part of the world.

Why has this not been reported locally. It's absolutely shameful. The surgeon should be allowed home immediately and the idiot racer docked points. Maybe the guy in the white car was a member of a prominent UAE family?

"maybe"??? maybe. I think he was just a standard local seeing a black guy (darker than me = less than me), driving slowly, decided to intimidate him to compensate for his own boring life, took number of car, reported him to the police ("oh yes officer that nasty guy stuck a finger up at me".... yeah right.....) just because he can, and the British guy is now without passport.

you know I've always wondered - how is it proven that anyone gives the birdie to someone else?

The money is good and there are a few places to spend it but I needed more. I always felt as if I were living on the dark side of the moon whilst I was living there full time.

Just despicable, especially considering there are Cancer patietens waiting for him and he can't help them because UAE locals and authroties don't give a rats arse about right and wrong.

No doubt the fact that this surgeon is Black played a big role in how the local reacted to him.

Well, guess we must hope that no locals ever need the expertise of a colo-rectal cancer specialist when they fly/ship their Bugattis etc to Little Arabia in London this summer, heh?

I hope they do need his and his colleagues expertise and get put back. This story makes me so incredibly angry.

yup, but unlike here, you can count on people in the UK being professional and putting their personal prejudices and experiences aside.

So completely retarded here.

[anyhow, I was going to say I was feeling more upbeat about the place today - lolzzzz]

But most probably they won't get put back...money talks, and a lot of money talks very loud.
