yeah...but until these top chefs actually work here full time, it's difficult for them i guess to get the highest standard...mind you, I reckon verre is as good as ramsey's london restaurants...

That, and the fact that restauranteurs here don't have access to the range of produce that they would have in Europe or the USA, and that the local produce is not that great.... Mind you, I reckon they could do more with the seafood here. The variety of fish you see at the fishmarket isn't reflected in most menus.

yep, you are absolutely right...my bugbear is the crappy cheeseboards in these places - apart from vu (and even there it's a tiny choice) they are all not worth having, including at verre actually...

Cracco Peck?

Last time I did that, I got slapped round the face.......

Restaurants in France are SOOOOO overrated - look how easy it is to get a Michelin star over there, compared to say London.....................

When Dubai has a truly original restraurant that isn't simply a derivative of something or somewhere else, it will have a chance of making it into a list like this. Until then.......

Stefan is a total ar*e of a chef..It reminded me of the story"The Emperor's New Suit of Clothes" .........Nobody wanted to be the first to say that the food was b*llocks!
I went with a friend who was a restaurant critic for a couple of London papers and she filled out the customer comment card with................ "Could somebody please tell the chef to have a wank BEFORE he comes to work!!"
