Qatar Plans to Enter the Guinness World Record for the Largest Flag in History

"The Qatari flag, which will enter the Guinness World Records, is set to be revealed concurrently with the 2013 National Day celebrations and festivities with the length of 509 meters, width of 200 meters and a total area of 101,800 meter square."

Countries that are desperately trying to make a name for themselves take part in these sort of things; and build the world's tallest buildings.

I mean what is more important from a humanity standpoint; tallest/biggest etc..or human rights, civil liberties, technological advancement and a relatively just legal system.
