Do any of you stream live UK tv eg: BBC1 - I have no problem to do this in the UK, so if you have a VPN connection and min 2meg broadband, why not ?

Re the e-vision question - I have e-vision with all of the Al Jazeera Sports Channels (up to +10). When I got home from work today I found that +9 and +10 (the world cup channels) were blocked. Rang Etishite who told me that I would have to pay AED370 to get them unblocked for the WC (oh, and renew my contract for another 12 months !!!). Robbing b******s!

yeah I just got off the phone with Etisalat who told me that they have blocked the world cup channels and if we want to get these back we need to re-subscribe for 12 months and also pay a fee of 370....:frown:
utterly useless!!!!!

Same here. I subscribed to the Du Aj Jazeera add-on around the time of 6 Nations as they said the World Cup would be on it. Had all the channels +1 to +10 and HD. Then a few weeks back they decided to remove +9, +10 and HD from my subscription. No reduction in price or whatever offered. Now they say you have to pay 299 AED to get them back. Anywhere else in the world they wouldn't get away with doing that..... Actually anywhere else in the world the matches are free-to-air.

Bastards don't make it easy, do they. Called Al Jazeezus yesterday to find out where their shop is on Electra: "Behind Ibrahimi Restaurant, near LifeLine Hospital". 20 minutes searching behind said restaurant, eventually went to OSN outlet who told me it's next door to them, opposite Ibrahimi Restaurant.

Aed 485 for 6 months subscription card. But my OSN HD box doesn't have a card slot. They suggested I tried OSN. Back next door--yeah, we can do you a year's subscription for 699. OK. Which box do you have? I've already told you that. Ah, it doesn't have a slot, does it. Ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

Upshot is that I have a card but nowhere to put it (I've a couple of ideas, sort of Gary Glitter-themed). However, there was a hint that if I took the HD box apart there would be space--anyone tried this? (I once half-dismantled my Capri's engine, put it back together but had several bits left over--still ran though.)

Otherwise it's out to buy a box. Al J suggested a Humax--any suggestions from anyone who actually knows what they're talking about?

yeh didnt i say that there are plenty shops on the corniche side of electra ie lifeline and not sands hotel, i bought mine from the first one i saw which was right by the underpass. humax decoders will work i believe they can be bought in car4 and such like. i have the osn hd one and you cannot put it in there, but it does have a card slot, but this new box of tricks will only accept the osn card.
