So not Ford Open Prison then ...

Where these poor, sad people/convicted criminals (some of them murderers) had a games room, library, gym etc and decided to burn them down because they objected to having to take breathalyser tests?

Seriously...I'd hate to see some of you innocent wives paying for the crimes of your husbands over there. You can only work people like dogs for so long before they break out of their camps one night and storm the town..And your soft desk jockey husbands would be no match for a mob of angry working men.

Other than vehicle demolitoion, the camps were in most likelyhood barely any better before they got 'trashed', which is no doubt part of the reason for the workers lashing out.

Even the most docile pet or human will eventually get fed up and strike out if they are routinely under duress.

Whether one lives there or not is a moot point regarding criticism or disgust at the situation because thats like saying an abolotionist shouldn't criticise slavery because they indirectly benefited from the wealth created by slavery.
It is unavoidable and inescapable that anyone with direct knowledge with living conditionts on the ground would have benefited in some manner from the slave like labour there, so does this mean only foreigners who never set foot in UAE can criticise the local situation? Ofcourse if you think so then the locals could easily retort back that said foreigners don't have first hand knowledge so their criticism is not accurate. You also end up aiding the apologists by removing eyewitness accounts and first hand expereinces of persons on the ground.

do you own any clothes made in asia?
do you own any sports gear made in asia, central or southern america?
do you ever eat food that may be sourced in asia ie rice, tuna, shrimp etc?
do you ever eat any chocolate or products containing chocolate extracts?
you cant answer no so you might as well accept it that you too actively support the exploitation of others from countries less economically powerful than the one in which you live. apparently you do post as if your hands are clean

So if I don't show any sort of sympathy or compassion , would that be better? So not only are the workers being treated like shit but now none should even take their side.
