Words fail me
“They bury infants into pots alive and bury the pots. They put tobacco into girls’ mouths. They hang them upside down like a bunch of flowers to dry,” she said, listing ways female children were killed."

I don't know what to say to that.............I thought it was only prevalent in China. Can't they sell them to Madonna and Angelina Jolie?

It'll all come back to bite them in the arse in 10-20 years time when those parents who thought they were quids in only having a boy find that they end up needing to pay a dowry to secure a wife for their child.

Re: Words fail me
I know three couples who can't have children yet are desperate for kids.
Nothing more insulting than a huge amount of people happily murdering unborn and newborn children because they wanted the opposite sex.
Absolute *****.

I've been told about this some time ago. A friend of mine, an Indian lady, explained to me how Indian society generally works. Rather scary.
Thank god there are a few people now who are trying to make this known and work to eliminate this and may other cruel actions.

Re: Words fail me
Wow. That's hard to think about.
Not to condone this - no one from most societies in the world could - but to play devil's advocate: Wipe this out and you have 10 million more people per year to feed, house, etc. In the same way that medical advances have created their own problems, what do you you do about the increase in population caused by a cultural shift away from acceptance of acts such as these?
By no means making light of this, and I'd rather have to deal with the consequences of a change, just thinking ahead...
