Women in Saudi - a small step in the right direction

This article is quite remarkable, and reflects the (gradual) changes taking place here. Not the subject itself, although that certainly represents some form of progress, but the fact that the article is allowed to be published at all. Ten years ago the author and editor would have gone straight to jail without passing 'Go'.....

"After all, our society cannot progress with half of its qualified people sitting on the sidelines."

Quite so.........

It is a step in the right direction, although the title says it all "Women: Small Steps Taken Where Giant Strides Needed."

It seems that Jeddah is still the preferred place to be if you are a Saudi woman with working aspirations as opposed to Riyadh or Dammam.
