What the bloody hell?

There's got to be more to this than we're told.

There is a lot more to it.

To summarise, she left UK with her Iranian passport, tried to enter UAE with an expired Swedish passport, then when not allowed she tried to use her Iranian passport. She was told she'd only be allowed a 96 hour visa with the Iranian passport and she kicked off big time, started filming the immigration officer and got arrested. She claims it's because of the alcohol, in reality it's more like they just added that on to the other stuff.

What happened after that has conflicting stories from both sides.

It since came out that she was going to Dubai to perform botox procedures on the sly.

Be suspicious of what you reda in newspapers - epecially the Graudina ! Or The Grauniad ow whatever !

Lampooned quite rightly by "Private Eye" for endless typos and total inability to get a story right.

Explains much. There was an earlier Guardian article that mentioned the UAE immigration held her up due to an invalid visa and the articles only mentioned her being Swedish living in the UK and I thought, what the heck. Swedes get VOA. So not surprising at all. And not surprising the Guardian left out much of the details.

If they arrested everyone for having a drink we would all be in trouble haha
it is alleged she was touting her botox procedures on a expat female forum and was not licenced by the DHA a big no no
The Daily Mail also ran the story with many commenting on what really happened ( That was good to see)

On top of this, it turns out Detained In Dubai aren't an NGO or even licensed legal professionals. They're a glorified PR firm who'll seed these stories with The Mail and newswires for a fee.

You'd have to first define NGO. Difficult to know if this is a hatchet job by The National, but they're pretty stern allegations ... Couldn't find out why the first DiD co was compulsorily dissolved at the same time the new one was registered.

Since they aren't selling the stories, but rather seeding them, I suspect you are in error. These flim-flam man consultancies that skate on the edge of legality deserve to get shut down. Every scam like this has a few good testimonials but for the most part only separate desperate people from their money.

I drank many, many wines on the flight back last night and didn't get arrested.

In future I'll just continue to not shout, swear or film people at airport security.

So I guess you have a good idea of what's true or not? The stories have been hilarious in how contradicting they are.

and?

Did you tell her that she is a complete nugget for filming an immigration officer? Lucky she did that in the UAE, imagine if she had done it in the US, or say somewhere like Turkey or Singapore etc.

Travelled on a 1 pop Iranian visa as the Swedish one she usually travels on had expired basically , so got caught on re entry . Played up at DXB and threw a wobbler . She's in and out very often and totally knows the score here.

Very surprised she went to the press considering what she does

Doubt she’ll be traveling here any more. Dubai Gov don’t like press at the best of times so I suspect she’s got a pretty hefty ban now.
