Essentially they were worried about having another half empty stadium whilst the world was watching so Immediately promoted a few thousand labourers to be Japanese (With shirts) and the same number became aussies.

There are plenty of videos of the incident on youtube.

Apparently a few hours before the game they opened the gates to local uni students who were bussed in to ensure 100% capacity, but then when the real fans turned up about 20 minutes before kickoff they locked the gates and claimed that they had turned up too late to allow them in?!?

What sort of stadium doesn't let in a ticketholder just because the game has already started?

I have it on good authority that the Australian bid team have appointed lawyers and are looking to sue the shit out of FIFA and Qatar over the whole fiasco apparently and understandably they are ever so slightly pissed offf about the whole thing

I was pleased with my suggestion about reducing the size of Europe's top Leagues for one season (by relegating extra teams and reversing the whole process the following season - see earlier post) to create a window in which there is room for a World Cup............ but I completely forgot that it would start to encroach into Euro Champs qualifying (assuming the WC was the winter after the summer of 22)........... it would also clash with the African Nations Cup......... so bring it forward to the middle of the 21/22 season? Qualifying will only just have finished, no time to prepare, etc............

Oh bollocks - give it to England........... by then, judging by how our FIFA World Ranking is plummeting, it might be the only way we could qualify..........

The most sensible solution has taken place.
Throughout this whole fiasco the ones that annoyed me the most were those (including westerners) who lived in the Gulf and claimed "40C is no big deal, how did we survive all these summers"
