No country is all rosey.
But Japan is doing ok. Lowest crime rates in the developed world too. Richer than us as well.
They will bring in more workers but won't be giving them passports and benefits. The large elderly population will be solved by expat workers like they have in the UAE who they can get rid of when they don't need them. A few will intermarry and some long term people will get citizenship by demonstrating loyalty and commitment to Japanese culture but not millions. Which is exactly what the UK should have done.
I also think Japan might show the world how we don't need to keep growing our numbers without end - that thinking is literally destroying the environment.

I largely agree. But they have deep structural problems, especially in terms of welfare and inequality. Their strengths lie in resilience and individual determination, as well as a system that keeps money flowing around the economy.
