I've been to many in the far east and it seems to work very well. No one would say Japan or South Korea are backwaters with no industry, education or particularly bad in terms of freedom. Scandinavian countries were for a long time nearly totally white northern European people and managed to create very peaceful and stable societies that are prosperous and often envied around the world.
A single culture can still be vibrant and can also adapt, and learn from other cultures - this can happen without importing millions of people from other cultures to stay and take up citizenship with little to no obligation to assimilate into their host culture.
Small numbers over time can be assimilated though - it's possible to have a multi-racial or multi-ethnic people that follow the same culture. This cannot be achieved when enough people come at once to enable their culture to thrive separately from their hosts. Especially when some of their hosts actively encourage separate identity based on their ethnic origin or religion of their parents.
Some cultures are related and can meld well together as well. The typical Englishman and typical German or Dane will find more shared values than the typical Pashtun tribal type or Beduin nomad. It's not a hard concept to understand and when you see how some cultures have achieved so much while others lag behind you have to ask what benefit bringing in large numbers of measurably backwards people into prosperous western nations there is? It's one thing to nab a scientists, rescue some secularists from theocracy and support pro-western Christians and quite another to provide homes, education (or their terms) and healthcare to people with a different value system and history who see themselves as better to their hosts despite having left their countries precisely because of what their culture has turned them into.
I would rather see an alloy approach to immigration than a 'salad bowl'. Allowing separate communities divided along ethnic and religious lines to form and grow to significant levels is a recipe for balkanisation. Doesn't help anyone and creates more racism and hate.

). My point was that most Europeans below 50 have never experienced living in such an environment, but still they look at it as the optimal situation. And that is whilst eating their kebabs and curries..You'd be surprised about the Scandinavian countries actually. Although they are widely viewed as pretty homogenous the social democratic approach also meant that they took in quite a varied group of immigrants as early as the 50s/60s, but yes most of them were assimilated. It was only when the Pakistanis started coming in the 70s/80s that shit hit the fan. Neo-nazism became a thing and was probably worse than most of the rest of Europe, which is quite ironic (for Norway anyway) considering we were occupied for almost the entire WWII. I grew up with those *****ers. Even got in massive street fight with a group called Boot Boys in the mid 90s.
The problem is the people who come but have no interest in assimilating and interacting with anyone who doesn't come from their homecountry. It's doomed from the start..

Someone who lived in Finland, i can tell you straight up the Finnish are the most racist people i've ever met. Even to English, it was a matter of skin colour it was a matter of you weren't Finnish.

Still waiting for my reparations from Norway and Denmark. Great, great uncle Eadric (419 times removed) had his farm looted by Danes and we've suffered as a family ever since while the Danes prosper from Lego, build off the back of Saxon loot.
And what the Norweigans did to Aunty Audrey (416 times removed) who was visiting Cousin Penda in Yorkshire in 1066 is unforgivable...I get triggered everytime I watch Troll Hunter.

To be fair, not exactly all roses in Japan. They don't breed enough and desperately need some pinoys in there to run the restaurants and hospitals. They won't open migration though.
