Why do I have trouble saying 'Du' ?
 

Been here 8-ish weeks and seem to always have a problem asking for Du cards.

Is there a special way I should ask for these items?

What do you ask? "Dooeee credit" should do the trick..

I just generally say "100 credit" or whatever amount i put on. They'll always ask which one.

I just go to my local grocery shop and ask for a Du Card - maybe it's the way you say it (accents and all that !!)

Mobile provider, there are two in the UAE; Etisalat and Du. Etisalat is considered the best one in terms of coverage, but its still not brilliant (the numbers start with 050 or 056)

Du is I believe the cheaper one, and doesn't have as much coverage as Etisalat, although that may have changed, not really sure.. (Du numbers start with 055)

Hmmm

OK sometimes I say 'Doo' and other times 'Dew' but the store assistants never understand me.

So, you reckon on 'Doo eee' ??

I really hate that - I have heard other people pronounce it that way too (mainly on UK TV)
