Actually it's based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The movie's good.

i loved to story of Brave heart .. but the Patriot was not as good as Braveheart ... although it was really nice ..
but why do you think both are impartial and unbiased??

Re: Who Wants To Be A Slumdog???
...because they present fantasy as history which gets sucked up by the historically ignorant as 'fact'... and eventually becomes 'true' - U571 is another classic example. Mel Gibson is a well known Brit hater as well, so ho hum what do we expect?...

Re: Who Wants To Be A Slumdog???
it is very interesting.
i never knew how many awards the movie got and i don't really care. as for the historical stuff i never trust movies *never*
they always Manipulate the truth ... either by adding stuff or removing or changing the whole story ... which is in many cases the work of media as well.
but about the movie it self i really loved it.

Harvey Keital was his usual cool self.
Ref Mel Gibson - when was it he went on his anti semitic rage - 2007?
I remember my sister recommending Slumdog Millionnaires a few weeks back when I was in the UK over Xmas - she's into arts n drama n all that stuff, and said it was amust see film. Still haven't got round to it, and here in Saudi with no cinema's, looks like it'll have to be on dvd.

To be honest, I really enjoyed that film, and knowing full well that any reference to actual events in history were well and truly - eerrr 'blown out of the water'.
