Christmas here in Muscat again this year but we're not complaining. What's not to like about spending time in the pool or on the beach (or both)? TBH can't abide the crass commercialism of Christmas so the more low key (and secular) approach sits fine with me.

We're staying as we have for about the last ten years I think.

Whilst I miss my sister and that, our grown up kids prefer it here so that where we stay. Lunch at the Raffles which is a great crack.

Having it here this year...last year Christmas day at home was nice, but found rest of the time a little depressing. People moaning about money, the weather and immigration.

Booked in to Nineteen - year before last went to Bubbalicious which was nice, but they are charging around 800dh now, which seems excessive considering how long the queues were for the roast meat.

Nope, 19-30 back in blighty. Looking forward to it? Not in the slightest.

Hate Christmas, hate the faff and the fuss but going home makes my Mum happy and I need to be there for Dad this year.

Would stay next year but am usher at a wedding so home again. 2016 is the year I stay here. Probably on my own. Bliss.

Er...no. But I too hate the commercialisation and have no interest whatsoever in the religious part, its just a good time to be with family and friends. Saw Christmas decorations in the local supermarket yesterday--Moroccans are pretty relaxed.

Hopefully Oz next year, think it will be my first ever Christmas away from home.

Driving to Salalah via the Empty Quarter. Christmas lunch at the Oasis Club. Time on the beach and (re)exploring some wadis. Won't miss the commercialism or the Scottish weather!

Booked in at the Radisson Blu Deira Creek (or whatever it calls itself). Choice of food from a selection of umpteen restaurants for Dhs195, perfick. My daughter loves it, been for the last two years.

We've got family visiting. Taking everyone to Ibn Battuta Movenpick. Should be good for the kids...and they have booze (not unusual of course, but I need it to get through Christmas)!

Had a booking in Al Qasr as well which we cancelled when we found out they do nothing for the kids (except maybe a visit by Santa whom I'm sure will be too busy dealing with drunk estate agents, wealth managers and other highly respectable clientele to have time for the kids).
