Have you tried Hanoi in JLT? I think its the sister of the one in AD, and if so it will be great. Cheap and great.

According to timeout there is one in Shangri-Helmet Dubai and one at the Za'abeel Saraay on the Palm.
Both have reviews saying good, but expensive.

You don't mean good value, you mean cheap. For example, Table 9 is a fabulous high end restaurant and not as expensive as you would expect for the standard, so that is value for money (for those that can appreciate such things).
I am not saying cheap food can't be good (Bombay Chowpatty is one of my favourites) but cheap and value for money are not the same thing.

Teatro isn't a Vietnamese restaurant, although it serves a variety of pan-Asian dishes. I like it there too.

All he did was remove his glasses and look sideways at people. There was also a blonde woman with a really squeaky voice who was always talking about her dad being an alcoholic. Worst of the lot.
