The Asian dude I think you mean is Bobby Chinn - half Chinese/half Egyptian (did you see his show when he was in Egypt? - hilarious, they did not know what to make of him), educated in England.. I like him but I can get why many people find him irritating. I had a great evening in his restaurant in Hanoi - genuinely inventive food and stimulating environment and not that expensive (on an international scale - eye-watering for Hanoi...).

That's a big bold claim. Sure the food is fantastic (though Bobby Chinn's place is more fusion than proper Vietnamese) but can it compete with the spectacular variety of China or the stunning artistry of Japan???? That's not to mention India, Thailand, Korea... Asia is two thirds of the world after all.

Julia Gillard - can't stand her voice, a real irrational hatred.

Needless to say Richard E Grant is one of my favourite actors. The misses likes Nicholas Cage. No thoughts on Cilla Black, except her whiny voice. Personally I detest Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock (their voices also get on my nerves) along with Burt Reynolds and Will Farrell. Indeed, most of the so-called American TV comedians annoy me. I would also like to know how Ben Affleck and Matt Damon ever got into acting. Can't think of too many female actresses who turn me off, except that tall skinny woman in Glee.

Is that "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives"? If so, yeah, he's a bit OTT, but I think its a great show--the food in all those small, usually one-man-band restaurants is bonking. The contrast with the nearest equivalent we have in UK--cafes--is extreme. Long live American food!
