The whistleblower
Bradley Manning (the young man who leaked the video footage depicting america soldiers shooting iraqi civilians incl. two Reuters journalists) is facing up to 52 yrs. Imprisonment.
He is now also been suspect in leaking the 91,700 Afghanistan reports to
Wikileaks.org Which means probably, if convicted, a life sentence.
To ensure a proper defence team for him, his family started a webside, where you can also donate. Www.bradleymanning.org

Re: The whistleblower
I know what you mean but at least jail in the UK means he can be regularly visited by friends/relatives.

Innocent? Noway!!
I don't think that exposing classified material would count as helping thme patch up the system.
That's a bit like beatign someone up and saying that you are merely helping him see the gaps in his self-defence skills.

Re: The whistleblower
it's not like things would ever change anything unless these ****ers are forced into a corner. to use a term the americans are fond of there is bound to be some collateral damage. obviously it is still unknown what the damage will end up being, and maybe it will be bigger than what we deem is acceptable, but the americans have been running riot in the world for decades so i think most people are willing to accept a pretty high price if it meant a safer and more transparent world....
without whistleblowers the people in power will always try to hide their sins from becoming public and push things under the carpet. should we as a civilised people accept this kind of behaviour? i don't think so..

Re: The whistleblower
I was talking about the McKinnon case - I wasn't aware he had revealed anything classified or sensitive to any third parties?
