Re: Where are you from?
Grew up in Saaarrrfend (thank God for Essex girls and Ford Capris), then lived in Riyadh (no, not lived, existed), Kobe for 7 years, Suffolk 3 years, Cairo 2 years, Osaka/Yokohama 1 year, Ilkley 10 years and now AD.
Home is most definitely Ilkley, although Osaka runs it a close second. AD could never be home--just somewhere where I work and play.

Re: Where are you from?
Born in Berwick-upon-Tweed, moved all over with being an army brat...Germany mostly, Norn Iron, Colchester. Went to boarding school in North Yorks. As I left school 21 years ago, my dad got his final posting to Catterick, so have lived in the North Yorkshire area since then, other than a year or two abroad in the USA, Taiwan and the Middle East.
I suppose I feel like Yorkshire is home now.

Re: Where are you from?
Born Taunton, then: Birmingham, Worcester, Forest of Dean, Warrington, Riyadh, Cairo, now Dubai.
I have a house in Warrington, but class Birmingham as home town. Would like to return there one day if things work out.
On another note, I did a family tree about 2 years ago. Managed to go back to 1700's. Turns out both of my Grandmothers were Irish/Irish descent, Paternal Grand father descends from generations of Devon Farmers, Maternal Grandfather descends from generations of Sunderland Seafarers/Shipwrights.
I went to Devon and stayed in one of the Farms my descendants used to work (now B n' B), toured graveyards/found gravestones of descendants even found a LIVE relative (Dad's cousin) in his 80's who had loads of old photographs of descendants.
I would definitely recommend it, particularly if you don't know much about your family tree. Very rewarding
