Re: Where to go after brunch in Dubai?
All bars in this country have sleezy lebos. They're like cockroaches. Everywhere and impossible to get rid of no matter how hard you try.
The thing about Barasti is that everyone goes there. So it's not just sleezy lebos and their Russian girlfriends on 9' heels. You might see some wild stuff, then again it could be a tame and chill night.
If you go to Barasti and find it's not your scene, walk to the Westin next door and take over a seating area on one of the terraces with sea views and have cocktails. It's pretty nice and relaxed.
There's also Buddha Bar at Grosvenor house. Post dinner it turns into a club of sorts. Definitely a pretentious crowd but fun.

Thanks for all this, it's great to know. My friend said she went to barasti after brunch last weekend and it wasn't too good so not sure we will end up there now. Westin sounds like a good option then maybe on to Buddha bar depending how classy we will be after a drinking marathon!
Madinat as was mentioned is also good - there's Left Bank, Trader Vics, Barzar (bit shit IMO), Rivi Bar etc.

Was pretty popular for a bit. We used to go there a lot back in 2008-2011 before I left Dubai. Nice place, not too crowded or loud, could sit outdoors, not as dominated by tourists as the other drinking places. Sorry to hear it's closed.

Thought you were talking about Rattlesnake for a bit, until I read back the thread....

There is new place opening in Madinat next to Cafe Rouge, K Lounge which is a karaoke bar. Not sure if it has actually opened yet.
Agency, Left Bank or Trader Vics aren't bad options in Madinat.
