How about this one...I was friends with a Saudi girl. She came to my house, ate my food, drank my booze and we generally had a good time.
Then , one day, I had a disagreement with my husband, and told her about it (my husband is American). Her answer, I quote "I hate Americans...they are bad people and should all die"....hmmmm......oh....and she was dating an American too....Seriously, no kidding!

There are many "anecdotes" I could tell you....

Every so often, someone comes on here to argue that good muslims either do not support extremism and do not drink alcohol or fornicate outside wedlock, depending on the topic of discussion.

The point I was making was that it is nigh impossible to find a muslim who can, hand on heart, swear that he has never contravened one or more of the basic tenets of Islam. Ergo, the idea that there are 'good' and 'bad' muslims is pretty much void.

I have absolutely no issue with Muslims who follow the teachings of the prophet, PBUH..

I do have a problem with the two-faced ones who claim they are 'good' muslims, then go and get pissed and laid by a Russian hooker...
that two-faced person is a lier and he can apologies to the russian or do something good to him and then ask GOD for forgiveness, if he is real muslim.if he isnt real muslim he will lie or do bad behavioral thing. what i mean we r not saying that real muslim is an angle, no , but i think u r surrounded by many nonmuslims and few of muslims who r not reflecting the true values of islam.

u said "I have absolutely no issue with Muslims who follow the teachings of the prophet, PBUH"
so, what do u know about prophet mohammed?

look, I don't care that much what people do or don't do...as long as they don't judge me...particularly on my religion , or what they assume to be my religion....and I have met people that are good...and I don't care what faith they have.
What I don;t like are people who say that they are one thing, then look down on me because I am not the same...especially if they then go and want the life I have...although they won't admit that.
That to me is wrong....and I can't respect such people.
Look around you...it is very obvious. And YES, it is very obvious here, and not as obvious where I come from, simply because where I come from most people don't care that much about religion.

Around the world there are people who profess to be Christian, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist etc, but don't actually live according to their faith. Some of these people do things which could be judged as bad. Like anything else, there are varying degrees.

It has to be accepted that their are also people who profess to being devout Muslims who are the same.

Just because this opinion is professed doesnt necessarily mean the person who said it is anti Islamic or that it shouldnt be said.

I have worked with and associated with Muslims who do all of these things mentioned in earlier contributions to this thread. I have also had conversations with Muslims about this without them getting upset about it.

As I said before, I do not care if people are devout or not. Or if they proclaim to be devout but do not adhere to the rules of their faith. Their business, not mine. I am a live and let live kind of person.
I do care if they look down on me, on my lifestyle, while proclaiming their devoutness , then turn around and go against what their faith dictates...that is when I have no tolerance or patience with them anymore.

I don't hate Saudis, in fact, I don't hate anybody. I am not laughing at that girl, I feel sorry for her.
In fact, I feel sorry for anybody who lives in a place where they are not allowed to make their own choices, good or bad. If we can't make choices, and learn from the outcome/experience, we can't develop and grow properly,as we do not understand consequences, and will simply blame others on our misfortunes...(oooohhh, yes, look around you...). We will not be able to manage our lives properly either, IMHO.

I enjoyed living in Saudi, had a great time. But I did not live the Saudi way....this is something I would never want to do.
It is simply not for me.

the adult muslim is a free person but in the same time he is responsible person, so we have the apportunity to chose while we know that every thing we do has its effect. when i feel that am so tired i go to sleep but not steel ppl money and go to 5 stars hotel to have a night their .most of ppl will choose the first action when they r tired but there r other ppl who will choose the other action, inthis moment islam protect human rights by banishing the thief and protecting the hotel owner and in other hand give the poor tried man consolation because of his patient in case if he dont steel , so he is free to have choices but not allowed to hurt others.
let me tell u that u would never want to live saudi life because u dont understand the situation very well
