Default When to go to Bur Dubai

The friend (who I will not be sleeping with or engaging in any form of sexual relations) is arriving Tuesday morning. I am taking Wednesday off to give her an all day tour of Dubai. We'll start with the Marina and work our way northwards, but when's a good time to visit Bur Dubai, Deira and the creekside areas? I detest going to that part of town so it's been well above a year since I last saw the gold souk and museum vicinity. Is it better to go there in the evenings as it's more active?

I haven't been on the metro yet but does it go to Bur Dubai? I'll probably taxi it down there but the metro may be handy.

There is a metro stop by Burjuman and several in Deira.

Unsurprisingly there are maps on the RTA website...

Big Bus is expensive and why bother when I know where all the sights are and have a car or can use taxi/feet.

But no one has answered the main question: when's an ideal time to hoof it down there?

Call me old-fashioned, but perhaps asking nicely and using please and thank you might get a better result?

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman." Must be true, then.

my tips for what they are worth

first watch porn for the next two days solid without ..ahem..interfering with yourself..

when she arrives then take her for a few drinks, maybe a nice meal, softly lit restaurant, a few more glasses of wine, maybe a nice stroll in a park somewhere at sunset, accidently touch hands..feel a frission of excitement ..
before you know it you'll be slam dunking her over the.. making love to her like you always imagined..

thats the real answer you wanted

Is there a nuance I'm missing? What's the difference between taking her up the Burj Khalifa and up the Bur Dubai?

I think we should be told.

You sound awfully snobbish and colonial. Maybe it's just the way you write. Some of us work in Bur Dubai and love it.
