...vice in other people?

for me it's liers/bullshitters...can't stand that, and find it hard to ever really trust someone who has lied to me...

so, what's your bete noir of the vice world?

Materialistic is the theory or attitude that physical well-being and worldly possessions constitute the greatest good and highest value in life.

Very much agree with this, though this is similar to MM's original, about liars.

My wife usually refers to her Dad, who died a few years ago, before I met her, so never got know him, when she speaks if liars.

His view on it - I'd rather have a thief in my house, than a liar. You can trust a thief to steal things and that's what he will always do. But, a liar, you can never trust them with anything.

Pure and simple - dishonesty. Except in special circumstances; for example, in answering such questions as "Does my bum look big in this dress?"

People who break promises.

I'm not talking about little things (promising you'll be there by midday and not turning up till nearly 1pm, etc) but where really serious and important issues are concerned.

I have been guilty of it myself on a few occasions (through thoughtless or forgetful neglect, rather than a deliberate attempt to cause distress) and later bitterly regretted the damage it caused.

It led to my brother and I not speaking for over five years, and it was entirely my fault. Perversely, sorting it all out (we get on superbly now) has made me a much better person than I might otherwise have been.

I'm more careful and considerate these days.
