Not quite sure if it's stupid or not, but a while ago I said 'Good morning' to someone ( yes I know, tempting fate). The bloke looked at me blankly and walked off. Oh well, rude sod and all that ,and thought no more of it. Ten minutes later, he reappears and said 'Yes.' ...

When I first saw this I thought you meant that there are some fubars in Muscat - had to think for a moment or two and then realised that, if this was your original intent, you are absolutely correct. However, there are a couple of fun bars in Muscat - they just take a bit of time to find and they're not in the obvious places. Mind you, it all depends upon what you regard as 'fun'.

Agent disappears for 5 mins, comes back with tea boy.
Agent: "What sort of coffee would you like?"
Me: "Mmm, Arabic would be good."
Agent looks at tea boy. Tea boy shakes head.
Me: "Ok. What sort of coffee do you have?"
Agent and tea boy confer. Agent: "Black or white."
Agent disappears for 5 mins, comes back with tea boy.
Agent: "What sort of coffee would you like?"
Me: "Mmm, Arabic would be good."
Agent looks at tea boy. Tea boy shakes head.
Me: "Ok. What sort of coffee do you have?"
