A mid 90s date adjust Oyster thing.

Never liked it.

Why don't you trade it in for something you do like?

Well it's an option. But I've really lost interest in these kind of statement watches - I just don't look after them.

Get it polished up before you trade in and look at Watchfinder & Co. - The Pre-Owned Watch Specialist for a sell on or a trade in .

Update:

I've lost interest now. Was just a passing fancy

I'll admit this thread went a long way to helping me back away. If I'm going to spend 20k on something I'd rather have another African safari.

But if I see a cool looking orange watch I might just go for it :sneaky:

Or a nice pair of socks

Good thread. I'm deciding whether to drop some decent coin on a speedy.

My next one - but I want the basic 'moon watch' (manual with hesalite).

I have to say that the Omega Dark Side of the Moon is an absolute stunner on the wrist.

Have thought of blowing it on a watch at duty free when I fly back to Qatar next week.

I haven't worn a watch in about 15 years. Always sort of liked the good men's watches and used to be jealous of mates with Tag Heuers back in the day and always promised myself one, but as you know, I'm frugal as ***** and would rather be extravagant on nice holidays. But maybe I'll finally take the splurge.

Is it worth it? I don't want to spend more than 5k so the really nice watches are obviously out of the question. There are Tags in that range but I've picked up that they're overpriced and too commercialised these days. Is that true?

Do you wear a nice watch? Daily or only for special events? What are decent options besides Tags?

Ever lost 'em? Stolen?

Worth it?

How about a Nomos?
Looks smart but not flashy.

Yep, that's the one I'm looking at. Always thought they looked a little plain. Mate has just bought one though, and they are far better looking in the flesh.

I have one of these, bought it in Sydney about 8 yrs ago, sill going strong. I wanted a watch that would look good as I age and not too flashy. It fits the bill.

I have a few others but this is my favourite. Also waiting for the Fenix 5x release.

Wow, a £10k+ watch that still works after 8 years. Who'd have thunk it?

I have a fossil that looks almost identical.

Should still be working by Christmas.

The tags gave up after about 4 years. The Rolex never seems to die, sadly.
