Re: What's a proper watch?
I'm sort of convincing myself I should be buying a nice watch now.
I came on here convinced I don't need to spend the cash and all that shit. But now....I'm working out the best way to get one here from UK.

If you are after a good watch there is no need to buy new. A vintage one of a classic brand has kudos and should keep its value if looked after properly.
Go and speak to Tariq who runs Momentum in DIFC. They specialise in vintage watches and have some lovely items, all serviced and cleaned and with provenance. Nice chap.
I bought myself a Cartier Tank Vermeil from him last year at a good price.

He probably does.
Best to gauge prices for yourself by doing a bit of research to see if you're getting a fair deal.
watchrecon.com should give you a general idea but it will greatly depend on condition and whether you have the box and all the other documents that originally came with the watch.

No box or docs sadly. It was inherited so was tough to ask for the box!
