I assume you're referring to the UAE rather than Dubai?
If so I'd say tax free, plenty of business, less grumpy people (well outside rather than in these boreds hehe).
The choice of restaurants is quite good too, comparable to major cities in Europe - it's usually cheaper to live here rents aside if you don't go mad drinking in expensive bars and driving flash cars.
Some of the expat crowd are very nice people - of course there are idiots but we have plenty of those back home too!

The weather from October to March
My lovely friends
Interesting career opportunities
The mix of people & food
The sheer lunacy of the place
Valet parking everywhere
Tax-free income
The ease of getting to so many places

Dining al fresco at a top quality seafood restaurant overlooking the Burj Khalifa and enjoying three amazing shows from the musical fountain for less than AED200 for three people.

BBQ with friends this evening (albeit we were wearing fleeces etc to keep warm) but we were all thanking our lucky stars that we weren't stuck in an airport somewhere.
Other than that?
All the usual, such as tax free status. Yes, good friends - have made a good few, especially our neighbours; the weather at this time of this year and, to be honest, don't find the summers too hard to cope with either, would rather have to manage a summer in Dubai than one in the UK.
