Whats everyone doing for Christmas?

Re: Whats everyone doing for Christmas?
Timmy, I must admit I love the build up to Chrimbo- all the parties and socialising and pretty lights- hate Christmas day with a passion though- note the alcohol comes out! most stressfulk day of the year in my opinion, I've said for years I wanted to be away for Christmas so I wouldn't have to go through it all- now that I am I have no idea what to do with it!

lol, I can empathise with you about Christmas day
Best Chrimbo day I had was in the mountains in Ubud, Bali - i.e no Christmas day

Normally I am pretty tipsy by 10am on Christmas day- I open my aunts bottle of homemade sloe gin (which is more like syrup and kills off all germs) and manage to consume a fair whack whilst peeling spuds- normally feeding of the 5 thousand at my parents house and alcohol is my coping mechanism. The day tends to be a drunken haze and was just wondering if theres anywhere good I can do a similar type of thing and if anyone else was planning on getting slowly drunk with complete strangers? Or if anyone is planning on cooking a full roast and needs mouths to feed?

After our roast dinner we will be on the beach playing with our son and, I suspect, his new remote controlled boat.
or, I could be at home, being forced to see relatives I could do without seeing, freezing my nuts off and moaning about how shit the telly is. Let me think that through...

Oy. I was out here for Christmas last year. It was pleasant enough. Good weather, a barbecue, a day at the beach.
But it ain't same thing. So this year it's back to the land of the cold and wet for me and I'm relishing every possible moment. Unlike some of you I enjoy my family's company and there's old friends to be seen.
To top it all, it's hard eating all the wonderful Christmas food while it's warm outside. I can't stuff myself on endless biscuits, cakes, tarts, cheese, chocs, roasts and booze while it's sunny and I'm walking around in flip flops.

depends where you are in the uk. I love xmas here but a cold and frosty or snowy xmas at home with the fields all white with animals huddled together and the trees covered in white and a roaring log fire, frankly its pretty hard to beat that.

likewise but there is a touch of magic added to xmas by a dusting of snow and a log fire which no amount of sun and warmth can ever match
