Whats everyone doing for Christmas?
 

Normally I am pretty tipsy by 10am on Christmas day- I open my aunts bottle of homemade sloe gin (which is more like syrup and kills off all germs) and manage to consume a fair whack whilst peeling spuds- normally feeding of the 5 thousand at my parents house and alcohol is my coping mechanism. The day tends to be a drunken haze and was just wondering if theres anywhere good I can do a similar type of thing and if anyone else was planning on getting slowly drunk with complete strangers? Or if anyone is planning on cooking a full roast and needs mouths to feed?

I get back from thailand just before xmas so it will be a quiet affair. Family are coming round. Lovely.

Not everyone! Im working over xmas as have a paid trip to Paris at the end of January so backing a trip home on from that so I only have to pay 40 quid for the eurostar so will be stuck here for Chrimbo! Me and Aha/Mariah/Bing its is with Mr Greygoose to keep me company!

I am doing Christmas day Brunch at Al Qasr with my mother, MM and her family and various other friends.
I haven't been back to the UK for almost 20 years.

The best christmas days I have had have been in dubai, abu dhabi, falklands, muscat,

I've never went home for xmas..its soo much better here, plus my family always love a bit of sun at this time of year!!

Kittycat. Meet up with some folk and go for a champers brunch..expensive but nice!!

OK, so most go home.., like for Christmas and the snow!?

Actually I'm quite glad there's no Christmas build up here. I'm guessing we have Christmas day, and then that's that! :thumbup:

Timmy, I must admit I love the build up to Chrimbo- all the parties and socialising and pretty lights- hate Christmas day with a passion though- note the alcohol comes out! most stressfulk day of the year in my opinion, I've said for years I wanted to be away for Christmas so I wouldn't have to go through it all- now that I am I have no idea what to do with it!

You will see more christmas spirit and effort in hotels and malls here than back home..

Some of the shows/displays/trees and decorations in the malls are stunning.

Better than some C-list celeb switching on the lights in oxford street on a pish wet tuesday night

A lot of singletons go to the Cellar @ Irish Village for X-mas day lunch (or at least used to) - if you can find some fellow Xmas orphans you could try that?
