I'm going through a catching up on clasics I haven't read for years, or have never read. Just finished Aldous Huxley's Brave New World and started Nabakov's Lolita. Also some boring financial books.

I will read Weasel's book once I work out how I read a Kindle version on my iPad.

Hotel Honolulu, kind of racey for a Theroux book but a good read.

I've got to admit that I haven't read a fiction books in many years, but several of the authors mentioned here are my favourites. My collection at home consists mainly of Graham Greene (nobody's mentioned him, though), Sharpe, Theroux, Vonnegut and Mishima. Everyone should read Mishima IMHO.

He sounds more heavy than Gunter Grass mate!

Far more eloquent, and at times simple, compared to what I remember of Grass. The Sound of Waves is simple and elegant. After The Banquet more complex. And his parting shot--the tetralogy The Sea of Fertility--deep, huge and enthralling.

Well the question is about what you are reading now, not about what you have read or your favourites. ;) Those are new topics...

Just downloaded it.

Do the bored read actual books or downloads on their iPads and similar?

I'm the latter.

It's pretty good , lots of good info on the band and the music , it's along the lines of Keith Richards last one , a lot of detail in the book , great read if you're a bit of a fan .

I haven't got to his dodgy noncing episode yet so the jury's still out ;)

That's so bizarre, because I am actually reading that at the moment, to my son at bedtime. It's the first book of the series, so I am hoping he is enjoying it, as I am looking forward to reading the others.

For adult reading, I have just finished "Welcome to Biscuitland" (Jessica Thom) and am currently half way through "Redeeming Features" (Nicky Haslam).

I can't get into ebooks, I prefer real ones.

I agree there is something therapeutic about turning a page rather than swiping a finger, but for travel you can't beat an iPad with 10 different books loaded on it. Cuts down on the luggage too.
