Nepal Airlines has sacrificed two goats in a bid to appease Akash Bhairab, the Hindu sky god, after one of its Boeing 757 airplanes experienced technical problems.
Officials at the state-run carrier sacrificed the poor animals in front of the aircraft in question in accordance with Hindu traditions, newswire Reuters reported on Tuesday.
"The snag in the plane has now been fixed and the aircraft has resumed its flights," said Raju KC, a senior airline official, without explaining what the problem had been.
According to local media reports, the problem had been caused an electrical fault.
