24.8%

Although my rent loan will be paid off in April and not due until end of November

I am not disputing where it comes from, I am saying that the two don't aggregate for me, I can have a higher or lower salary and it will not affect the rate they will give me for housing.
Its not like if I get a lower salary they will give me a huge housing rate or vice versa.
The post I replied to mentioned if I didn't have a housing allowance I would earn more, not true in my case.

Yeah but that's just negotiating isn't it? Higher or lower salary = higher or lower package.

If John Smith wanted to leave Company A who paid him 30,000 + 20,000 Housing (paid directly by co) + Car Provided...he'd be asking Company B (who operate an all in package figure to sort out shit yourself) for 30,000 + 20,000 + 5,000 (roughly for car) + whatever else he could try and get himself.

So in essence it's pretty irrelevant. Some people (not meaning you or others on here) love to be able to say they get everything provided. Other folk don't give a shit. It's the same value package.

Do you live in International City then? My rent is paid by the company but is equivalent to 32% of my salary, partly because it's a 3-bed villa and partly because my salary is lower than most on here.

That's a very good point . There's still some employers and employees who can't figure out it's " cost to company "

It doesn't matter how you divide or what terminology you want to use it still costs X to employ Y .

Thats why i would never look to employ married guys with kids in bog standard positions if possible because the cost is horrific . Obviously it's different for different industries but you find a lot of firms still don't account very well .

There was a margin a few years ago but a lot of that is stripped out now .

12% for now, but would love to move to a better/further place and would even be willing to pay 20% as soon as Im allowed to drive (back problems)

reason for moving to a better place : the neighbors let out their kids every afternoon to run around in the corridors and its doing my ***ing head in!
complained a million times to the management and they send their guy but no use, the kids are out as soon as the guard leaves
dont want to resort to the police route, any suggestions? i was thinking of geting myself a big dog

About 19%. At the height of the ridiculous rents, I was paying about 40%.
