What have the Arabs ever done for us?

Was watching Life of Brian again last night, and the classic scene with them in the meeting, John Cleese being the chairman.
So what have the Arabs ever done for us? The Aqueducts?
I'll start with the obvious one - the bum gun, brilliant.

Given those of you working over there the opportunity to earn more than you can in your home countries? If not, why are you there - you must get something out of it?

Humus, moutabel, shawarma, muhumara, fattoush, tabbouleh...
And in fairness, on the numbers thing, and in many other areas of science and art, they did take things quite a way forwards from what the Indians had come up with during the golden decades of the Abbasid caliphate.

Well for me they have granted me several years of stable and well paid employment, decent weather and a good multicultural experience. For that I’m very grateful.
So, apart from the experience, optics, numbers, the food, public order, the interesting work, the tax free salary - of course the tax free salary goes without saying, and residence in a fun sunny place with interesting people, what have they done for us?
