Default How to kill...

... a goldfish.

An Army recruit has been prosecuted by the RSPCA for swallowing his pet goldfish as part of the NekNomination drinking game.

A vet report advised that the stomach would be a completely unsuitable place for a goldfish.

He ordered Hope to pay a £300 fine, £30 victim surcharge and £431.17 in court costs.

Victim surcharge?

So, "drowning" one goldfish is a criminal offence, and warrants a fine of £300. Systematic slaughter by letting animals bleed to death is ok, though. Something's ****ed up somewhere.

One drunken evening in 1979 I swallowed a half dozen Bad enough, but my slightly odd friend Eddy chewed his.
That took all the fun out of it.

I don't know, the stomach acid would render a horrible death to the Goldfish, unless it suffocated first.

Do agree that it is total Bulls$%T that religion gets a pass for its barbaric cruetly to animals, just because the 2 religions in question are influential and or big.

Religion aside, If you set off a flea bomb (fogger) in your house is it barbaric cruelty to animals( Having removed the mammals). Where does that claim start or end?

When I was taught angling part of that was how to kill a fish, with a sharp blow just behind the neck. Never seen that done anywhere outside of UK, with everyone just letting them suffocate. And how is the goldfish's fate worse than that of lobsters in restaurants?

Does a fish have a neck?

I was taught to use 'the priest' to put them out their misery.

Meant to say "just behind the head".

What's "the priest"? Bored to death in church?

I got taught not to wring a neck on a pheasant but to hold it by the neck, lift it up, drop your hand sharply (holding it) and stop it abruptly. It's own body weight snaps the neck and decreases the chance of you holding the head in one hand and body in the other!

Didn't feel too nice though, I must admit.

Never set one off. fleas are not the same as cows, sheeps, goats etc..

I am not against killing animals for food or self defense, just against barbarically killing them if it is at all possible to kill them with minimal pain.

Or just plain don't give a sh$t attitude born of lack of compassion and empathy for others and animals.

Before any westerner attempt to criticize the Muslims for the way they slaughter animals I suggest he/she looks no farther than his own country and see if his animals are all happy. Take for example foxes. Up until a few years ago the last place in the world any fox would want to be is England! A typical end to a foxes life in England would be a horrific death at the hands of some Eglish gentlemen on horses using killer dogs to scare the daylight out of it before savaging it to pieces. Some years ago there was a move to put an end to this animal cruelty and I remember at that time listening to a debate on television involving an upper class lady who was defending this sport and her argument was that foxes are evil animals because they kill live stock indiscriminately and therefor we should not feel sorry for them.
Another example is bulls. A bull would much rather born in a Muslim country than in Spain or Portugal, at least if it has to die it will die in dignity and with a proper ceremony, not a slow and agonizing death in front of thousands of psychopath spectators. The natural way of killing animals for food is through slaughtering from the throat, this is how mother nature meant it to be, just look at the wild beasts and how they kill their preys, always going for the throat.

Ofcourse Fox hunting is barbaric and there are many many Westerners who oppose it and demonstrate against it. Spanish bull fighting is also barbaric.

Be it Foxes or Bulls , the number of animals killed or maimed in such a barbaric fashion is less than miniscule compared to the number of animals slaughtered according to some religious ritual.

So you have to look at the numbers; ignoring the number is dishonest because you are taking the exception to the case and using it as an excuse to excuse away Halal/Kosher slaughter.

The difference is the mindless, unquestioning adherence to dogma: no chance of change because no freedom of thought.
