Re: What do you miss from home?
There's an Aswaag right across the bridge from the Greens in Media City, on the road to Hessa Street.
I've popped in there once or twice and it didn't seem particularly impressive to me or cheaper. Could be just this one joint.
I do miss the markets in the US. Waitrose is nice but Americans have supermarkets that are unbelieveable by comparison. Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Wegmans in particular.

I miss being self employed- being my own boss- even though the hours where longer its far more satisfying than being in full time employment.
I miss my friends and family, getting slowly pi55ed on a sunny sunday afternoon sat in a pub with all my mates.
I miss walking my dogs and getting cold cheeks as the wind cuts into you.
I miss London terribly.
I miss bacon butties.
I miss the countryside.
I miss professional creatives.
I miss so much I could go on for hours- hmm bit homesick at the moment

You can be self-employed here & get bacon butties in the UAE. I also know a few professional creatives.
I miss the long summer evenings when it isn't dark until 10.00pm.
I miss Delphiniums and pick your own farms
Decent magazines that aren't outrageously expensive
People who always indicate when turning
Museums
I actually don't miss very much.
